Job Description

ABOUT THE POSITION:

A mid-sized professional services firm is seeking an IT Project Manager to lead and execute complex internal technology initiatives that align with broader business goals. This position involves full lifecycle project ownership—from business case development and vendor evaluation through implementation and post-launch support—with a strong focus on stakeholder engagement, strategic alignment, and operational efficiency. The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including senior leadership, department heads, and technical staff, to ensure effective prioritization and measurable project outcomes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead multiple IT projects through all phases of the project lifecycle: initiating, planning, executing, monitoring, and closing.
  • Oversee project scoping, requirements gathering, budgeting, and ROI analysis alongside stakeholders and Business Analysts.
  • Manage vendor selection and evaluation processes, including demos, comparison analysis, and implementation planning.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation such as business cases, change management plans, communications, requirement specs, and vendor scoring tools.
  • Use Wrike (or similar platforms) to track project progress, dependencies, timelines, and reporting metrics for leadership.
  • Act as liaison between technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment of outcomes.
  • Identify and mitigate risks proactively through contingency planning and regular status updates.
  • Promote consistency by creating reusable templates and documentation standards for future projects.
  • Support departmental adoption of project management practices, including training on project tracking tools.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
  • PMP certification required.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience managing IT projects in fast-paced, collaborative environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead concurrent projects involving cross-functional teams, technology upgrades, and new system rollouts.
  • Experience with vendor management and enterprise technology implementations.
  • Proficiency in Wrike or comparable project management platforms.
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with an ability to communicate technical content clearly.
  • Strong documentation and process improvement skills.
