Specialized Recruiting Group is seeking a technically-minded Project Manager for a full-time opportunity in the local government of Durham, NC. Previous IT experience is a must, while state or local government experience would be a plus.

As a Project Manager, you will utilize your leadership, creative problem-solving, and IT aptitude to shepherd requisitions through the procurement and implementation processes.

This is a full-time (37.5 hours/week) position with a target compensation of $40-45/hour. The contract length is open-ended, with the possibility of converting to permanent employment. This is a hybrid position, requiring in-office attendance in Durham an average of 1 day per week.

Responsibilities Include:

• Developing detailed project plans, timelines, and milestones.
• Monitoring project progress and addressing roadblocks.
• Ensuring communication and collaboration between cross-functional teams.
• Acting as the main point-of-contact for project stakeholders.
• Communicating updates to stakeholders and senior management.
• Conducting regular status meetings and progress reports.
• Managing expectations and handling changes in project scope.
• Tracking project budgets.

Desired Qualifications:

• Related bachelor's degree or comparable experience.
• PMP Certification.
• Two years of project management experience, including tracking and planning projects.
• Experience within a state or local government.
• One year of experience gathering requirements from business units and creating business case documentation.
