Ottawa Area ISD is excited to announce a vacancy for a Special Education Teacher (MOCI). This role is fundamentally focused on providing quality education to students with moderate cognitive impairments at our center-based educational setting, Ottawa Area Center (OAC), which is dedicated to serving special needs students. 

Qualifications:

• The ideal applicant must possess a valid Michigan teaching certificate with an SA endorsement; however, a Cognitive Impairment endorsement is preferred. Credentials must meet Michigan special education requirements


• Experience teaching in MICI -MOCI-SCI continuum and working with students with challenging behaviors required. Moderate to heavy lifting may be required.


• Must have excellent communication skills and ability to establish relationships with community and parents.


• Ideal candidate will have CPR/First Aid certification and CPI training. 


• This role may involve moderate to heavy lifting.

Schedule: Full Time, semi-balanced calendar

Compensation: Per OAEA Contract. Starting salary is $56,486 and above.
