Job Description

• This is an RF module design position. You will design circuits for RF front-end module, including power amplifier, low noise amplifier, filter, switch, attenuator, power detector, coupler etc.
• Understanding the basic RF and microwave circuits is a must. You will also need to use RF testing equipment such as network analyzer, power meter, spectrum analyzer, noise meter etc.
• You need to have strong debug capabilities to summarize and analyze the simulation and measured data
• You will work with a mentor and perform the following job responsibilities:

1. Design RF circuits for amplifiers, switches, filters and couplers etc.
2. Simulate active and passive circuits with ADS, Cadence
3. Use 3D simulator for EM simulation and extraction
4. Evaluate RF parameters like Gain; PAE; IP3, P1dB, Noise Figure, S-parameters, receiver band noise, stability, ruggedness, etc.,
5. Compare performance and trade-offs between different design variants. Work with design team to understand the correlation/discrepancy between design and measurement data
6. Perform debugging tests when requested

Requirements

1. Candidate must be currently enrolled in an Electrical Engineering (or related) BS, MS, or Ph.D. program at university
2. Must be able to commit to Winter/Springinternship term (Jan - June)
3. Must possess solid RF fundamental knowledge
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
