Pay starts at $18/hr (up to $20/hr, based on CDL status).
Weekly pay.
The schedule for this role is two to four days per week (M, Tu, Th, Fri). Operations are closed in this market on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday.
Delivery involves servicing ~100 (local) residential accounts per shift, containing a combination of doorstep household and walk-in office locations. Deliver compostable goods to office customers on occasion.
Delivery duties: collect 4-gallon bins containing food waste, and leave a clean, empty bin behind for each collected. Delivery Drivers leave the customer’s location clean and free of debris.
At the end of your route, return to the CompostNow warehouse to unload your van.
Other Delivery Driver duties include pre- and post-trip safety/vehicle checks, weighing bins, recording bin weights, taking service notes, and maintaining a clean vehicle.
Warehouse responsibilities include: emptying containers filled with food scraps, sorting through containers to remove contamination (i.e. anything that can’t be composted), thoroughly cleaning all containers and readying them to be returned to our members, preparing finished compost, cleaning work vehicles, and maintaining a neat and tidy work environment for storage of operations materials.
Comfortable maneuvering large vehicles, have clean driving records, and ability to pass a background check.
Operate vehicles in accordance with CompostNow safety rules, OSHA and DOT requirements, and local, state, and federal laws. They demonstrate commitment to safety.
Desire a physically active working environment, and have a willingness to work outside in all elements.
Not squeamish: can be around food scraps and smell of decomposition throughout the day.
Demonstrate commitment to customer service.
Personal characteristics of a Delivery Driver: responsibility (comfortable working with autonomy and minimal oversight); strong communicator (committed to communicating regularly and constructively with your team), and adaptability.
