Summary:
Under general supervision, understands and provides technical knowledge and the ability to test, repair and maintain mid-level/complex medical devices. Equipment also includes electronic test equipment and various types of medical equipment. Testing will be done in our facility and will involve staff interaction. Supports and maintains Memorial Healthcare System (MHS) safe Environment of Care.Responsibilities:
Writes, reviews, and executes testing procedures on medical devices, ensuring compliance to codes and following manufacturers instructions.Repairs and maintains mid-level/complex medical devices by adjusting, calibrating, testing and documenting equipment performance.Provide training and mentoring to Biomedical Equipment Technician (BMET) I staff.Serve as project manager for low complexity projects.Maintains appropriate equipment inventories and equipment sterilization.Thoroughly documents preventive maintenance and equipment repairs into the CMMS system in a timely and consistent manner. Analyzes data and processes for opportunities for improvement. Works in cross departmental teams to identify opportunities for improvement in practice and policy.Competencies:

Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required.Required Work Experience: Three (3) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of various types of medical equipment.Other Information: Candidate may have: High school diploma plus nine (9) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment, Military/Department of Defense Training in Electronics, or Bachelors degree or higher and five (5) years of experience in the repair and maintenance of medical equipment. Biomedical Industry Technical Certification is preferred.Additional Education Info: or in Applied Science Degree in Electronic Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field. Equivalent work experience may substitute for education requirement.Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:
